Types of A Cappella Singing
Mbube - Means 'Lion'. Loud and powerful. Has one or more high pitched lead singers.
Isicathamiya - 'to walk lightly' or 'tip-toe'. More refined. Uses four part harmony often with call and response. There are dance moves, stamps and tip-toeing.
How do the singers interact?
There are no conductors. They listen and watch each other. They clap, stamp, dance to keep in time.
As well as singing there can also be different vocal sounds including clicks, yelps etc.
Venue / Location - Singing can be social in communities or performances in concert halls.
